I had really considered getting hair transplants when I started losing my hair. I thought that I was too young to be bald, and I wasn’t about to get a wig. I don’t have a good enough memory to remember to take a pill every day or to apply some cream every night before I go to bed, and somehow I don’t buy into the advertisements that some special shampoo will magically help me to grow my hair back. So transplants seemed to me like the most logical option, because I wanted something that was going to work and I wanted to get it all out of the way in one shot. I found the website of a local place that performed hair transplants and the pictures that they advertised looked very natural. I set up an appointment and went in to the clinic for a consultation, which I thought was going very well – until they told me the cost… Ten thousand dollars. Where in the world was I going to get ten thousand dollars to pay for new hair? I guess I’ll just hold onto whatever hair I have until it starts to look silly, then I’ll just shave it off – after all, bald is beautiful right?
