Boy was I surprised, I’d just finished reading the morning paper when the knock came at the door. I recognized the man immediately from the commercials on television… The most prominent personal injury attorney in Cleveland was standing in front of me on my porch. It’s almost as if I were star struck, I see him on TV everyday as if he’s some kind of celebrity. I was wondering if his car broke down or if he had decided to go into politics and was pounding the pavement for his campaign already, then he informed me that I was being sued by my neighbor. We’d had a terrible storm the other day while I was at work and apparently my son was a little lacks in his shoveling duties, my no good neighbor is claiming he slipped on the sidewalk in front of my house while walking his dog and sustained a back injury. Mr. Hot Shot lawyer was here taking pictures of the scene in preparation for court and he’d felt so confident in their case that he’d offered to let me settle out of court if I’d like to come to his office for a meeting. This isn’t the first lawsuit my deadbeat neighbor has had since I moved into town; he’s always trying to profit through legal action. I told the hot shot that I’d be at his office, but with a lawyer of my own, I’m not about to get swindled out of my hard earned money by some scam artist and a shady lawyer.
