Day two of my search for a new data storage solutions – being a little on the cheap I decided I would check out the options for online hosting of my files and potentially a website – think of that a website, my own “. Com”, how cool! So my first stop on my data storage solution safari was GoDaddy.com. Listen, I’m not going to lie, it was definitely because of the ads they use, I never would have though of going to a website as poorly put together like GoDaddy without some artificial stimuli. After finally figuring out where to go to register a domain, or I guess it is more like renting because you register for a year – just like a lease – and then have to decide if after a year you would really like to keep it. It’s not an easy thing to really find what you need on their site, the design is very cluttered, so, while the tabs are clearly labeled inside them just looks messy – as does the sides of the page. So, anyway, it took me awhile to figure out where exactly I needed to go next. Finally I discovered the hosting portion of there website, it would’ve been nice if during the registering process of the domain it said, “Hey! You’re going to want us to host this for you,” but that didn’t happen. After purchasing my hosting plan, a modest 5 gigs of space for like four bucks a month. I was informed it would take 48 hours to get my new data storage solution ready to roll. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see how it goes.
