I hate to pick up a newspaper or turn on the news any more. It seems all that is talked about is bankruptcy. People losing their homes and all they have worked for and companies filing bankruptcy because of low sales and high overhead costs, making employees lose their job and head for bankruptcy. Every channel and every newspaper you read is focused on bankruptcy. The thought really scares me. I try very hard to put some money away for a rainy day but it is getting harder and harder to save anything. My bills are escalating as the costs for everything are rising. Gas prices keep going higher and so does the cost for public transportation. Electric bills are outrageously high. I make sure my lights are turned off if I leave a room and my outside lights are on a timer. I don’t know where the answer lies, but I sure hope the economy starts to take a turn for the better before we all end up living in a commune, sharing everything. I hope the media is putting this information out there so often to open the eyes of everyone to do their part in whatever way they can to improve our economy. Maybe I should just stick to reading books and not the newspaper so I wouldn’t get so worked up over these issues. But I know just putting my head in the sand will not solve anything.
